02 Purpose
The Lincoln Highway Corridor Redevelopment Report was commissioned by the City of New Haven to reimagine the historic corridor as a vibrant urban destination in Northeast Indiana. Building on the 2023 New Haven Comprehensive Plan, the project aimed to align the city’s goals of stewardship, equity, and sustainability with strategic redevelopment efforts. Civitas Strategies collaborated with KSM to conduct a comprehensive analysis of demographic, economic, retail, and housing trends, while also facilitating stakeholder engagement meetings and focus groups to ensure the strategy reflected the needs and aspirations of the community.
03 Results
The resulting report provides a phased, holistic redevelopment strategy that emphasizes the corridor’s potential to become a cornerstone for community and economic development. It outlines actionable solutions to enhance the corridor’s physical assets and infrastructure while strengthening its connection to future developments. By focusing on creating a livable city and a strong foundation, the strategy positions the Lincoln Highway Corridor as a place to live, work, and play, offering a roadmap for revitalization and a renewed sense of pride for New Haven residents and visitors.
