02 Purpose
In mid-2023, Civitas Strategies was selected to lead the update of the Montgomery County Comprehensive Plan, with a $50,000 budget in partnership with KSM. The project aimed to foster sustainable economic growth by conducting a comprehensive review of foundational planning documents, market and economic analysis, growth scenarios, GIS mapping, future land-use planning, and community outreach. Collaborating with a steering committee, the effort prioritized inclusivity and strategic planning to address Montgomery County’s unique needs and aspirations.
03 Results
Adopted in 2024, the final plan successfully balanced preserving Montgomery County’s rural character with identifying opportunities to enhance residents’ quality of life. By providing actionable strategies and a clear vision for future growth, the plan serves as a roadmap for sustainable economic development that aligns with community values and long-term goals.
